Ministry of National Education and Youth (Ministère de l'Éducation nationale et de la Jeunesse)
Current status:
Schools are open

Initially, all schools in France were closed for all students except the children of health workers. The ministry hosts different websites, with guidelines, and resources to teach various subjects.

Virtual learning environments are used for lessons and communication with pupils, teachers, and parents.

Some lessons and other educational content are broadcasted in the media.

As of May 11th, nursery and primary schools are open with smaller classes of 10-15 students. School attendance is not compulsory right away. Parents and guardians may keep children at home and teachers continue to provide distance lessons.
