Ministry of Education, Science and Sport
Current status:
Schools are closed until 18/5 . Schools reopen gradually after this date.

Kindergartens and certain grades in primary and secondary schools across the country gradually reopen as of 18 May, and the number of children and students per classroom will be restricted.

During the lockdown

By the end of March, and with only a few exceptions, all primary and secondary schools are providing distance education.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, in cooperation with the Institute for Education of the Republic of Slovenia, obtained school data on the number of pupils and students who do not have a computer at home and no internet connection. Schools are requested to temporarily lend such equipment to students (such as computers, tablets), which are currently not in use at the schools, for the duration of the emergency measures.

The Slovenian Educational Networks opens online classrooms for schools (Arnes classrooms) and provides webinars for less experienced teachers. In order to unify the content of the teaching material, the Ministry is also working closely with experts from the Institute of Education, where they have also produced some videos/recommendations for distance education teachers.
